Sustainability Practices

Businesses are becoming more socially aware of their carbon footprint. Many companies have implemented, or are in the process of implementing, a corporate sustainability plan. Sustainability can impact every aspect of your energy supply and demand activities. We can help you define, integrate and meet your sustainability objectives.

Sustainability Monitoring

Since sustainability is different for every organization, it can be difficult to measure. EnerConnex enables organizations to manage the business side of their sustainability strategies with a powerful combination of data, real-time monitoring, and analytical tools. Through the tracking and monitoring of energy management, efficiency projects, building analytics, and carbon management, EnerConnex allows organizations of all sizes to quantify the financial, social and environmental impacts of sustainability.

Renewable Energy

Renewable energy sources such as solar, hydro, and wind can be installed at the facility level to help offset energy consumption while also fulfilling internal sustainability targets. In addition to on-site energy offset measures, you have the ability to purchase electricity from renewable sources from your energy supplier. EnerConnex can assist in negotiations with energy suppliers to include a designated percentage of green power within your supply agreement. Regardless of the solution you choose, we can help you track the carbon footprint reduction as a result.

Certified Renewable Energy Credits

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) represent the right to claim attributes and benefits of renewable generation sources. One REC is issued for each megawatt-hour (MWh) unit of renewable electricity produced.

The Green-e® Program is a national certification program for renewable energy administered by the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS). Green-e is the nation’s leading independent consumer protection program for the sale of renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions in the retail market. CRS certifies renewable energy that meets environmental and consumer protection standards that it developed in conjunction with leading environmental, energy and policy organizations. The program requires that sellers of certified renewable energy disclose clear and useful information to potential customers, allowing consumers to make informed choices. Only specifically designated renewable energy resources are eligible for the Green-e® designation. Green-e® Energy certification gives customers the ability to demonstrate awareness and control of the overall environmental impact of their electricity use. EnerConnex can assist with the evaluation, pricing, and purchase of RECs through the CRS Green-e® program.
