EnerConnex – Portals: At the Tipping Point

EnerConnex remains on the forefront of technology within the retail energy space. Over the last 12 months, the EnerConnex team has partnered with Energy Frameworks to build out the Marketplace transaction platform allowing brokers and suppliers to transact more efficiently. Offering reverse auction, sealed bid, and direct sourcing RFQ types, the overarching goal of the platform is to offer a “portal of all portals” enabling both suppliers and brokers to come to one place to transact rather than logging into multiple platforms. March issue of TEPA’s Plugged In publication outlining the technology and vision.

Mexico: New Deregulation Opportunities for Electricity and Natural Gas

In January 2016 Mexico transitioned to a new deregulated electricity and natural gas market. CFE, the regulated monopoly, is splitting up into 6 different business units to encourage competition. End Use Customers (> 1MW) have the option to choose competitive supply from alternative providers and generators or remain on the CFE standard offer Basic Service tariff. Federal mandate for CFE to become a “for profit” entity resulting in rate increases for customers remaining on Basic Service tariff.

Estimated savings of 15-25% for customers moving from Basis Service tariff to competitive supply.

If your customers have facilities in Mexico, now is the time to start evaluating options. Contact us to learn about the latest developments in Mexico’s newly deregulated market.
